There are some outstanding collections which almost defy superlatives. Daryl Ziegler’s does not. Very simply, Daryl indisputably has the biggest and best collection of beer advertising trays in existence. Over the course of more than 50 years, Daryl has combined dogged determination and detective work to skillfully construct what he affectionately and appropriately calls the “Tin Tunnel.”
The “Tin Tunnel” consists of an astonishing display of 1375 beer trays. But not the common trays from the 1950s and 1960s often seen at flea markets and antique stores. Most of these trays are rare, and some, like Daryl himself, are one of a kind. Ask him about any tray. He can quickly locate it among his assortment and regale you with the tale of its significance, backstory, and how it found its way to the “Tin Tunnel”.
