Al. S. Schorr's City Brewery Bock Sign

Object/Artifact

Bock Beer. Albert S. Schorr, City Brewery. Hannibal, MO.

Bock Beer was a favorite of collection donor, Herb Haydock, thus inspiring him to collect many Bock pieces, especially from smaller breweries. One example of this is Albert S. Schorr’s City Brewery Bock Beer advertisement from 1902. Albert S. Schorr’s City Brewery opened in 1905 in Hannibal, Missouri. The brewery was small and ultimately unsuccessful, causing it to close just five years after opening in 1910.
