Hudepohl Beer "Something To Blow About" Tin Sign
Object/Artifact
Hudepohl Beer. The Hudepohl Brewing Company. Cincinnati, OH.
Hudepohl Brewing Company was founded in 1885 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The brewery briefly closed during Prohibition but reopened in 1934 and continues to produce beer today. This self-framed tin sign titled Something to Blow About references the Cullen-Harrison Act, passed March 22, 1933, which legalized the sale and consumption of low-alcohol beer and wine. The Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect on April 7, 1933, which is displayed on the calendar in the background of this piece.
