The origin of Bock Beer is often debated, and many different stories of its creation exist. In this advertisement, Marshfield Brewing Company tells its story of how Bock Beer came to be. Marshfield Brewing Company was founded in Marshfield, Wisconsin, in 1893. The Brewery produced Bock Beer from its inception to the beginning of Prohibition in 1920. When Prohibition ended in 1933, Marshfield Brewing Company began brewing beer again, and in 1934, it restarted the production of Bock Beer and brewed it until 1942. Marshfield Brewing Company shut down in 1966, and J. Figi Brewing Company took over the brewery.
