Object/Artifact

Wurzburger Beer. Hortonville Brewing Company. Hortonville, WI.

The Hortonville Brewing Company was founded in 1900 in Hortonville, Wisconsin, by former blacksmith Charles Hoier. The brewery was open for a short period of time, closing in 1920 due to Prohibition. During this time, the brewery was known to produce only two varieties of beer, a bock beer and a lager beer. Advertised in this lithograph on paper is Hortonville Brewing Company’s Würzburger Bottled Beer, a German-style light lager.
