Greg Evans has one word when it comes to why he collects breweriana: “preservation.” He has named his collection space “Evans Historic Corner Bar” – a fitting title for a place that features some of the most beautiful breweriana that was ever made for Philadelphia and its nearby breweries.
Greg’s collection features an amazing array of signs and other point-of-sale pieces that chart the robust history of Philadelphia breweries from the 1880s through the early 1950s. The cornerstone of the “Corner Bar” is Greg’s unparalleled assemblage of Pre-Prohibition era lithographs produced by Philadelphia area breweries. He has painstakingly conserved these 100+ year old artifacts so they are ready for the next 100 years. Greg’s passion for preserving these artifacts is evident by his knowledge and enthusiasm in discussing them.
